The first milestone of the Sand World has been set! The 50.000th visitor of the sand sculpture festival was welcomed at the Travemünde Priwall beach during the early afternoon on July 28. Klaus Puschaddel, chairman of the supervisory board of the Lübeck and Travemünde Marketing GmbH (LTM) and the Tourism Manager of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck, Andrea Gastager, presented the lucky “jubilarian” Ursula Benseler (50 years old) from Duderstadt near Göttingen and her family with a gift certificate for a one-week stay in the vacation park Landal Travemünde for up to six people – donated by Landal GreenParks – and with the “Sand World-Starter package” including a T-Shirt, a hooddie jacket, flip flops, the Making-off DVD, keychain, and the Sand World magazine.

Heute vormittag war der Kinderreporter Anton (9 Jahre) des ZDF-Kindermagazins logo! in der Sand World in Travemünde unterwegs, um einen Sandskulpturenworkshop zu besuchen und das "Carven" (Schneiden) von Sandskulpturen zu erlernen. Natürlich haben ihn das ZDF-Kamerateam, die Redakteurin Anna Orth und sein Vater Sebastian Lehmann bei seinem Ausflug in die Welt der Sandskulpturen begleitet. Anton kommt aus Kiel und ist einer von 19 logo!-Kinderreportern in ganz Deutschland.

Wie Caesar&Kleopatra
Die Seglerin und WM-Dritte im Laser-Radial Petra Niemann hat einen entspannten Nachmittag mit ihrem Mann Norbert Peter (segelt bei der TW im 18-Footer im Team Magic Marine) in der Sand World verbracht. Nach ausgiebigem Spazierengehen und Bewundern der Skulpturen ließen sich die beiden noch auf ein kleines Fotoshooting ein und standen Caesar und Kleopatra in nichts nach.

Like Caesar&Cleopatra
Petra Niemann, sailor and third in the world championships of Laser-Radial, spent a relaxing afternoon with her husband Norbert Peter (sails at the TW in the 18-footer with team Magic Marine) at the Sand World. After a thorough stroll through the park and admiring the sculptures, they agreed to a quick photo shooting and they were Caesar and Cleopatra’s equal in every aspect.

Why not try it yourself! Sand World – that does not only imply seeing and marvelling but also participating and trying it yourself! Since childhood almost everyone has gathered plenty of experience with sand – while building sandcastles in the summer or making delicious sand cakes.
