Including the first weekend, more than 20.000 visitors
were counted at the 4th German Sand Sculpture Festival “Sand World” in
Travemünde.
“We are very happy how Sand World
started. The fairy-tale motive enthuses many people – children and
adults from several countries,” said Johann W. Wagner (CEO of Lübeck
and Travemünde Tourist-Service GmbH)
The area which covers app. 10.000 square metres shows 45 images by
the Grimm brothers, oriental legendary stories from "1001 Nights" and
tales of the Danish fairy-tale writer Hans Christian Andersen.
What
most visitors like best about Sand World is the world’s biggest Frog
King. He watches over the water world, awaiting his Princess. Another
favourite is the castle, which is 12 metres high. Sleeping Beauty,
Cinderella and the Beauty and the Beast live here.
Sand World opens daily until September, 4.
