In a fabulous ceremony, Sand World Travemünde opened yesterday.
The amazing elefant-pyramid and other gorgeous sand sculptures were a beautiful background for the pre-opening event of the 5th German Sand Sculpture Festival. More than 300 guests joined the opening - among them were carvers from all over the world and several journalists.
The official opening started at 8 p.m. with nice weather and a huge program. Otto Schlüter (this years organizer of sand world) and Johann W. Wagner (CEO of Lübeck and Travemünde Tourist-Service GmbH) declared the Sand World opened.
They are convinced that this year’s circus sand festival will become a magnet for visitors and will thus have an impact on the whole region of the Lübeck Bay.
The Sand World park opens daily from July, 7 until September, 3
Opening hours are Sunday through Thursday 10 a.m. – 11 p.m. and Friday through Saturday 10 a.m. -12 p.m. |
