Good bye Sand World!

Don't be sad!
Don't be sad!
Today visitors should say good bye to Sand World on Priwall Beach. The sand sculpture park is closing at 11 p.m. Especially families were interested in this year’s motto “Open arena - circus”. Both children and adults enjoyed the circus world of sand.

Tomorrow the sand sculpture festival is opening at 10, in order to give blind and visually handicapped the opportunity to “see” Sand World with their hands. Opening hours: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

On Tuesday cutback will be starting. By mid-September, the sandy sircus world will have disappeared from Priwall Beach. All sculptures, such as the big clown or the pyramide of elephants will be destroyed by caterpillars and other heavy machines. The special sculpting sand will be transported to Schönberg waste dump.

The fact that the sculptures are being destroyed at the end is no reason to be sad for the artists. Their art is naturally fading. Once work is over at one site, artists travel to another place anywhere in the world to show their skills. There will definitely be a reunion and new sculptures on next year’s Sand World from July, 06 – September, 02, 2007.
