Kohl und Gorbatschow The 75 sand sculptors - so called carvers – have been already working for six days at the Priwall beach in Travemünde to bring to life the Journey through Time with 9.000 t of sand. Napoleon, Caesar and Cleopatra, King Arthur, Gorbatschow, Kohl, and Louis XIV are slowly emerging from the mountains of sand, rising towards the sky from where they can observe the hustle and bustle of the carvers and await the creation of their sandy colleagues.
The carvers have one week left to complete modelling the journey through time before the Sand World opens its time gate for the public.
During the first three days after the opening, the visitors still have the unique opportunity to watch the carvers put the finishing touches on to their artwork made of the special sculpturing sand. Due to its cubic structure, this sand is extraordinarily well suited for high stacking. After the process of carving, the sculptures will keep in perfect shape for several weeks.
Directions on how to build your own sand sculptures, a kid’s programme and guided tours through the sculpture park of the Sand World will supply a varying entertainment programme. Sand World’s catering invites all visitors to relax and to enjoy the atmosphere. For further information please call the Lübeck and Travemünde Marketing GmbH 01805 - 882233 (€ 0,14/Min.). |
