Congratulations The first milestone of the Sand World has been set! The 50.000th visitor of the sand sculpture festival was welcomed at the Travemünde Priwall beach during the early afternoon on July 28. Klaus Puschaddel, chairman of the supervisory board of the Lübeck and Travemünde Marketing GmbH (LTM) and the Tourism Manager of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck, Andrea Gastager, presented the lucky “jubilarian” Ursula Benseler (50 years old) from Duderstadt near Göttingen and her family with a gift certificate for a one-week stay in the vacation park Landal Travemünde for up to six people – donated by Landal GreenParks – and with the “Sand World-Starter package” including a T-Shirt, a hooddie jacket, flip flops, the Making-off DVD, keychain, and the Sand World magazine. Currently, Ursula Benseler, who has been an absolute Sand World Fan for 4 years, is spending her summer vacation at the Baltic Sea with her husband Klaus-Dieter, the daughters Hanna and Katharina, her little niece Laura and her grandchild Luna. “Visiting the Sand World is simply part of our summer at the Baltic Sea”, explains Ursula Benseler enthusiastically, “And I always send at least 10 postcards of Sand World to friends and family to show everybody how beautiful it is here”.
“We are happy about the interest of the audience, which the Sand World experiences again this year”, rejoiced Klaus Puschaddel, chairman of the supervisory board of the LTM GmbH, regarding the interim result of 50.000 visitors, “The Lübeck and Travemünde Marketing GmbH has created a genuine “crowd-puller in the entire holiday region of the Lübeck bay. The vacationing families take advantage of their stay in the far north to experience the world of sand live in Travemünde.” The Tourism Manager Andrea Gastager feels optimistic about growing visitor numbers: “Our guests from the south German federal states are now coming in large numbers as the summer vacations have only just started there.”
