Countdown for the Sand World – Bidding farewell to the sand sculpture festival on September 2

The countdown has started…the Sand World at the Priwall beach in Travemünde invites you for ten more days to take part in the “journey through time”. You’ll have to hurry if you have not yet seen Napoleon, Leonardo da Vinci, King Arthur and the Beatles live. The sand sculpture park will close its gates on September 2.

On Saturday, September 1, the French sound pilot Raphaël Marionneau will present one more time his successful summer event „L’été abstrait“with music from the fields of classic, ambient and chill out. He really is crazy about the ocean when he puts on his music in the Sand World at the Priwall beach in Travemünde between 4pm and 9 pm. Cries of the seagulls mix with music, the sound of ocean waves and scraps of conversation. And while the guests relax in the lounge-chairs, the Sand World transforms into a place of harmony. The event is included in the normal Sand World admission fee.

One day after the official end of the event – on Monday, September 3 – the sand sculpture festival at the Priwall beach in Travemünde opens its gates from 10 am until 5 pm to give the blind and visually impaired the unique opportunity to “see” the Sand World with their hands. Please pre-register groups at the Sand World office by calling 04502/309346. On this day there will be no admission charged for the blind and visually impaired including their escort.

Until Sunday, September 2, the sculpture park will be open daily from 10.00 am until 8 pm. Admission fee for adults is €7,00 p.p., for children aged 5 to 14 years old € 4,00 p.p.. The admission fee includes the return trip with the Priwall passenger ferry (Nordermole dock). For further information please call the hotline of the Lübeck and Travemünde Marketing GmbH 01805/882233 (0,14 €/Min).
